God I hope this works right…
One puzzle piece of a much larger picture. This isn’t even all complete yet it’s like the simple version. Can’t give too much away. ;) -
I just imagine The Blockbuster Buster as the rookie cop trying to prove himself to everyone on the police force.
Canon. He gets killed by the murderer before he truly can, although after analyzing the body Doctor Insano concludes that he put up a hell of a fight.

Maybe Yanki J is a former part of the mafia who Critic meets up with through JewWario and he knows the killer also used to be part of the mafia? And this leads to Critic meeting up with MobBoss!Diamanda to get info?
I’m just rambling here. *shrug*
Canon. (Suggestions for how JewWario knows the Critic are open, though.) Yanki J gets killed by the murderer before he can give any other information about the killer. This forces the Critic to go to Diamanda for info.

i was thinking the city should be called Channel
You know how many Channel Awesome jokes you could make?
And it sounds like a legitimate city name.
